Tapioca (Kassava ) Bonda - KERALA SPECIALS

Tapioca  bonda


Ingredients
Tapioca – one kg
Bengal gram dal – half kg
A pinch of baking soda
A pinch of asafoetida
Green chilies – 4
Onions – 2
One teaspoon each of mustard seeds
Chili powder and urad dal
Oil to fry
Salt to taste
 
Method
Mix the gram flour with salt, chilly powder, baking soda and asafeotida powder and make into a fairly thick batter by adding enough water. Peel and wash tapioca. Then cook and mash. Meantime cut the onions and chilies into small pieces. Heat 2 tsp of oil in a frying pan. Add mustard seeds and urad dal. When the mustard seeds stats popping, add the chopped green chilies and onion and stir for a few minutes. Add the mashed tapioca to this and also salt. Mix well. After two minutes remove the fire. When the mixture is quite cold, make small ball out of it. Dip these balls in previously prepared gram flour batter and serve hoe with chutney.

Kerala Bonda

Ingredients required- For making 20 nos
1.  Onion -  half Kg
2.  Potato-  half Kg
3. Green chilli - as per requirement
4,  ginger-   as per requirement
5. Kariveppila   ,,             ,,
6.  Salt
7. Kadalamavu- basen
8. Oil to fry.
